Behind the scenes

  • The incantation for this spell is stated in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. In the novel, the incantation is never mentioned, but is described as "a few, well chosen words", and its visual description is "bright blue flames." Thus, Larcarnum inflamarae may be a replacement of the Bluebell flames charm.
  • Although specifically directed for use on cloaks, it is unknown if it would work against the cloak of a Dementor or Lethifold.
  • While the general spell for igniting items is Incendio, this spell is presumably better suited for use on cloaks or other articles of clothing.
