The Knarl is a creature that greatly resembles a hedgehog.
Their quils hold many magical properties. They are highly suspicious creatures and will usually go beserk if they see an attempt to poison them.
They were featured in the Care of Magical Creatures O.W.L. where students had to locate it amongst a group of hedgehogs.
