Kirley Duke (b. 1971) was the lead guitarist for the popular band The Weird Sisters. Kirley was the son of Quidditch player Catriona McCormack and the brother of Meaghan McCormack. Both women played for the Pride of Portree.
Etymology
A "Duke" is a nobleman with the highest hereditary rank, especially a man of the highest grade of the peerage in Great Britain.
Behind the scenes
- The fact that Kirley's mother has the surname McCormack causes a surname discrepancy, as Kirley's surname is Duke. There are plenty of explanations for this mother-son surname discrepancy: Catriona keeping her maiden name when she marries, Catriona divorcing her husband after having children with him and then remarrying/reverting to her maiden name, Duke being Kirley's stage name, etc. It is currently unknown why Kirley's last name differs from his mother's.
- Kirley Duke was portrayed by Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead fame in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
