John Marwood Cleese is the actor who portrays Nearly Headless Nick in the Harry Potter film series.

John Cleese was born on the 27th of October 1939 in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset, He attended Cambridge to study Law, but spent most of his time writing and performing with the university's legendary Footlights group. Most famous for being a member of the sketch comedy troupe Monty Python, he has appeared in countless films and television shows including: Fawlty Towers, A Fish Called Wanda and Shrek 2. A species of lemur, avahi cleesei, was named after him, in honour of his working in protecting these endangered primates
