Jennifer Smith portrayed Lavender Brown in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban[1], she replaced Lavender's former actress Kathleen Cauley who played her in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Though Smith had a non-speaking role she appeared frequently in the film.
Smith was not asked to return for either of the following two films and in the sixth film, white-British actress Jessie Cave was recast as Lavender for Half-Blood Prince and has been cast again for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.[2] Jessie Cave became the third actress and the first actress of a different racial-colour to play Lavender.
