James Sirius[2] Potter is the son of Harry and Ginny Potter. His godparents, as well as uncle and aunt, are Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. He is seen going to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 2017 with his brother, Albus, who is just starting his first year. There to see him off is his sister, Lily, who is two years younger than Albus. Contemporaries at school include his cousins, Victoire and Rose, and Draco Malfoy's son, Scorpius.
He was named after his paternal grandfather, James Potter, and his father's godfather, Sirius Black, and is a Gryffindor. He seems to have inherited Fred and George Weasley's sense of humour and Ron's unfortunate knack for poor timing as well as Ron's ability to meddle in other people's love affairs.
James would eventually steal the Marauder's Map from his father's desk drawer while he wasn't looking to have fun with it at Hogwarts.
