Ivor Dillonsby was a wizard interviewed by Rita Skeeter for her book The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore. In his interview, Dillonbsy claimed to have discovered eight of the twelve uses of dragon's blood before Dumbledore, and accused Dumbledore of stealing his papers. He also expressed the opinion that Bathilda Bagshot had gone senile, remarking of her, "The fire's lit, but the cauldron's empty."

Etymology

The name "Ivor" is from the Old Norse name Ívarr, which was derived from the elements yr "yew, bow" and arr "warrior". During the Middle Ages it was brought to Britain by Scandinavian settlers and invaders, and it was adopted in Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
