Isla Hitchens (née Black) was a pure-blood witch and the sister of Sirius, Phineas Nigellus, and Elladora Black. She married a Muggle man named Bob Hitchens, and was struck off the Black Family tree and disowned as a result. Her dates are unknown, but she was born after Phineas (1847) and before Elladora (1850).[1]

Etymology

Isla is the Spanish word for "island". It is also an archaic spelling of the Scottish island Islay, and the name of two rivers in Scotland. Her name probably refers to her isolation from the rest of the Black family.
