Idris Oakby (1872—1985) was the founder of the Society for the Support of Squibs.

Biography

Early Life

Idris Oakby was born in 1872 into parents of unknown blood status. She either was home schooled by her parents or attend [[[Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry]] which she would of attended from 1883 to 1890. There is also a possibity that she may be a Squib in which case she would not have attended Hogwarts. If she was a Witch, she presumably purchased her wand from the Ollivander family when she was eleven.

After she graduated from Hogwarts, she set up a charitable organisation called Society for the Support of Squibs which supported Squibs and helped them live in the Wizarding World. She was presumably labelled as a 'Blood Traitor' for her actions helping Squibs.

Death and Post-Mortem

Oakby died in 1985 at the age of 113. She was on a Chocolate Frog Card after her death and she was awarded 'Wizard of the Month' in 2007.

Etymology

The name "Idris" means "ardent lord" from Welsh udd, "lord, prince" combined with ris, "ardent", "enthusiastic", "impulsive".
