- — The Hurling Hex's effects[src]
An Hurling Hex is a hex that is used to causes broomsticks to vibrate violently in the air and try to buck their rider off.
History
1991
- "...and then he realised that his broom was completely out of his control. He couldn't turn it. He couldn't direct it at all."
- — An Nimbus 2000 hexed with the Hurling Hex[src]
In 1991, Quirinus Quirrell was most likely casting a wordless and wandless version of this spell on Harry Potter's broom during his Quidditch match. This would be a foreshadowing to the fact that Quirell was being almost possessed by Voldemort, as only wizards of extremly high power can do wandless magic, and it was implied that Quirell was not extremely talented.
1993
In 1993, Filius Flitwick suggested that Harry Potter's confiscated Firebolt may be jinxed with this spell.
