In 1991, Quirinus Quirrell was most likely casting a wordless and wandless version of this spell on Harry Potter's broom during his Quidditch match. This would be a foreshadowing to the fact that Quirell was being almost possessed by Voldemort, as only wizards of extremly high power can do wandless magic, and it was implied that Quirell was not extremely talented.
