The subject of this article is a real-life person, company, product, or creative work that has been mentioned "in-universe" in a canon source. The Harry Potter Wiki is written from the perspective that all information presented in canon is true (e.g., Hogwarts really exists), and, as such, details contained in this article may differ from real world facts. |
Household Stories was a book of fairy tales by the German Brothers Grimm, first published in 1812. They were translated to English by Lucy Crane and illustrated by Walter Crane.
There was at least one copy of this book at the Hogwarts Library.[1]
Behind the scenes
Edit
- This prop, featured in the Library scenes throughout the Harry Potter films, was based on an actual translation of Grimm's fairy tales. That particular cover art features a intricately illuminated initial "H", that was, most likely, impossible to incorporate into the prop, so the prop actually reads "Ousehold Stories".
