Hortense Cooper was a Ravenclaw student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1990s.She told Harry Potter that he could cast Reducto on suits of armour in order to find Stink Pellets during the 1996–1997 school year.

EtymologyEdit

"Hortense" is a feminine form of the Roman family name Hortensius, possibly derived from Latin hortus "garden".
A "cooper" is one whose occupation is the making of barrels, tubs, and other vessels formed of staves and hoops.
