Hestia Carrow was a witch who attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1990s and the twin sister of Flora Carrow.
Biography
Hestia, along with Flora, was Sorted into Slytherin at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at the age of eleven and became members of the Slug Club during the 1996–1997 school year.[2]
They may be related to Death Eaters Alecto and Amycus Carrow.[3] Both her and her sister were quiet at the Slug Club meetings and both had a fondness for the colour green, wearing it as their school uniform house colours but also out of choice as their every day clothing as well as their formal clothing for the Slug Club Christmas party in which they attended.
Behind the scenes
- This character is only introduced in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
- Hestia Carrow is portrayed by actress Ruby Evans.[2]
- Because she is a member of the Slug Club she must have a famous connection or somehow be famous. Her background is not known. But, as both she and her sister were invited, it is doubtful that it was one of them as an individual that was famous or that they were good students, and rather that they are related to a famous, powerful or prominent being.
- Both Carrow girls were named after Greek goddesses. As both goddesses represent good things - the hearth, flowers, spring, home, family - it may be implied that they are nice people, regardless of being Sorted into Slytherin.
