Herpo the Foul's Basilisk was the first recorded Basilisk in History. It was bred by Herpo the Foul, a Greek Dark Wizard, who discovered after much experimentation that a chicken egg hatched beneath a toad would produce this gigantic serpent. This particular Basilisk is believed to have lived for close on seventeen centuries and was believed to be the largest of its kind at 379 meters. It is also believed that this serpent destroyed Herpo the Foul's horcrux.
