The Hogwarts greenhouses are where Herbology classes are taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. During the 1996–1997 school year, the greenhouses were also used by the Potions Club.

The greenhouses have statues of long, serpentine dragons running along the peaked roofs. They are home to many exotic and magical plants including some that are extremely rare, difficult to cultivate and maintain, or even dangerous, such as the Venomous Tentacula.

[edit] Greenhouse three

Used by second to seventh year Herbology classes, this greenhouse contained mandrakes. It was later used by Horace Slughorn to brew a potion, most likely to not be noticed by anyone.

[edit] Behind the scenes

In the books and videogame adaptations of books 1-4, the Herbology Greenhouses are located across the Hogwarts grounds from the castle. In the films and later videogames, they are nestled in an open-roofed wing of the castle. The pavilion is still accessed from a door to the grounds, although there is also a door in one of the Greenhouses that leads to the Charms corridor.
