Henna is a flowering plant which has been used by humans since ancient times to dye skin, hair, and fabrics.[1] The term is also used to refer to dyes derived from the plant.[1]

In August 1995, the Daily Prophet reported that the "Ginger Witch" was caught in a henna explosion, which she survived.[2] The following year, the Quibbler reported that the same witch was arrested in Caxambu, Brazil with fake henna.[3] The Quibbler later reported that this scandal lead to her being sent to Azkaban.[4]
