Hengist of Woodcroft was a medieval wizard. Tradition states that Hengist founded the village of Hogsmeade in medieval times after being driven from his home by Muggle persecutors. Popular rumour suggests that he used the Three Broomsticks Inn as a home. [1] There was a bust of Hengist on the fourth-floor corridor of Hogwarts Castle, near the Hospital wing. [2]
