Hemani Roshan was a Ravenclaw student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1990s. She gave Harry Potter some powdered moonstone in exchange for two chess pieces. After then she frequently said, "Thanks for the chess pieces, Harry." She could be found hanging around on the Wooden Bridge.

Etymology

Hermani is an Indian name meaning "made of gold", and is a name for Parvati. Roshan means "Light" in various sanskirt languages.
