A Head Boy or Girl badge was given to each Head Boy and Head Girl at the beginning of every year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[1] These students were in their seventh year, and may well have been prefects previously, although that was not a prerequisite.
The badges were probably presented in a similar fashion to Prefect badges, which was via owl post and were included alongside a list of school supplies.[8]
History[]
