Beginning in 2001, EA Games began releasing adaptations of the Harry Potter films. Originally they were released for PC, GBC, GBA, PS1. Then, with the arrival of new generation consoles, XBOX, PS2, and GC versions were created for the second game. NDS and PSP versions were made for the fourth, and in the fifth game, Wii and PS3 versions were released.
To date, seven video games have been released:
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (video game) (released in the U.S. as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) (2001)
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (video game) (2002)
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (video game) (2004)
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (video game) (2005)
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (video game) (2007)
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (video game) (2009)
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (video game) (2010)
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (video game) (2011)
The final adaptation, Deathly Hallows, has been split into two parts which will be released in November 2010 and July 2011 respectively, to match the films.
