Books[]

I was thinking... should we have a project to revamp all of the 7 books? I mean, that's really what this Wiki is about... and to be honest, those articles aren't that good. They could use cleanup. Should we have a project for those? I'd be willing to be the leader. Of course, then I'd have to think of a creative name...:) -- Freakatone Talk 00:06, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Definately a good idea for a project, although you may want to split it up and focus on one book at a time? And yes, witty and creative names are always welcome :) - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 07:39, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Hogwarts Founders[]

I was thinking we should maybe do a revamp of all the Hogwarts founders pages. Like fixing up the grammar. Adding some content, making them a bit longer. I would be glad to be the project leader for this one, if accepted. Gryff23 21:06, 3 June 2008 (U

And I just thought of a name- Project Founder Gryff23 21:26, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

I propose we expand the scope of your idea to also include the articles on the four Houses. They're in need of some work, too, and I think a good place to start might be to conform all of them to a single structure ("Traits and values," "Common room," etc.). I like your suggestion for a project name, but since the trend seems to be toward humourous names and I'm proposing that we expand the goal of the project to include improving the House articles, how about Project House Cleaning? -Starstuff 13:42, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Is this still available?[]

Hi, unsure how to phrase it, but I remember finding everything on Harry Potter Wiki:Harry Potter Wiki Projects well pitched, the ideal of the HPW community working on specific projects is lovely, however, because there's no recent highlights pointing towards this page, I actually forgot all about it for almost half a decade. The closest thing I found was a link to Category:Harry Potter Wiki Projects, on Special:WikiActivity, which I don't go look at at all (my landing page being Special:Recentchanges, which I find more useful) and it doesn't have all the projects that are listed as "current"; it just seemed like an extra step to go through, when linking directly to the HPW namespace page would be just as informative.

I also believe Special:Community should have the option of customizing messages "From the community" (eg: w:c:arrow:Special:Community, w:c:shadowhunters:Special:Community, w:c:outlander:Special:Community, just showing potential ways to utilize it.) While I personally don't land on this page much either, I think more exposure even for people to just come across it by accident, is better than little to none exposure. If possible (no idea what the edit function is like), I think the most ideal is to just let this "From the community" display Harry Potter Wiki:Community Portal, a page that's on RecentChanges but also not linked to elsewhere (sans User pages or talk pages.)

That's base on the premise that this is still a thing going on this wiki, that some may have forgotten or not be aware of. If it's still a thing, then I guess my next question would be asking advise on how to pitch what's said on Talk:2014 Quidditch World Cup final#Coverage into a project. lol. I'm not at all looking forward to be a project leader with supervising responsibility, but I think the problem is critical enough that actions needed to be taken? Or it could be just me. IDK. Thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
