A schoolbag was used by Harry Potter to carry around textbooks, quills, and other items throughout his six years attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It is possible that this bag was used even in his Muggle education prior to attending Hogwarts.
The schoolbag split open at least once during his years at school, in Harry's second year all his belongings fell out onto the floor of a corridor and red ink spilt over his textbooks, but Tom Riddle's Diary seemed to absorb the ink; it showed no signs of the spill later on, which was one of the first signs of something odd going on with the diary.
