Gwendolyn Morgan played Quidditch for the Holyhead Harpies, and was the team Captain in 1953. Following a seven day match against the German team Heidelberg Harriers in 1953, the Harriers Captain, Rudolf Brand, proposed marriage to her. She promptly concussed him with her Cleansweep Five.
Etymology
The name "Gwendolyn" means "white ring", derived from the Welsh elements gwen "white, fair, blessed" and dolen "ring". This was the name of a mythical queen of the Britons who defeated her husband in battle, as told by Geoffrey of Monmouth.
