The Gripping Charm (incantation unknown) is a charm which allows an object to be more easily gripped. Discovered in 1875, the Gripping Charm revolutionised the design of the Quaffle. It allowed for players to hold, throw and catch the ball with one hand, which eliminated the need for straps or finger holes.
