- "He wasn't in Great Wizards of the Twentieth Century, or Notable Magical Names of Our Time; he was missing, too, from Important Modern Magical Discoveries and A Study of Recent Developments in Wizardry."
- — Harry and the others find nothing useful searching books for information about Flamel.[src]
Great Wizards of the Twentieth Century is a book about prominent wizards during the 1900s. It can be found in the Hogwarts Library. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger consulted this book in the 1991–1992 school year while searching for information on Nicolas Flamel.[1] They did not find any information about him in the book and later realized that, as Flamel was over six hundred years old, this and the other books they consulted were unlikely sources of information.[2]
Behind the scenes
- In chapter 6 of Philosopher's Stone, when Hermione meets Harry for the first time, she mentions reading about him in a book titled Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century. It is unknown if this was intended to be the same book.
