Lopdumb

Albus Dumbledore, Grand Sorcerer.

Grand Sorcerer (abbreviated Grand Sorc.) is a title a witch or wizard can hold. Albus Dumbledore held the title in concurrence with being Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot and Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards.[1] A previous Supreme Mugwump, Sedley Smirk Platter, also held the title of Grand Sorcerer.

Grand Sorcerer in Chief

Interestingly, Grand Sorcerer in Chief was the title that the Muggle king gave to the charlatan in Beedle the Bard's story Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump.[2] Any resemblance this use of the title bears to the real title of Grand Sorcerer, if any, is unclear.

Behind the scenes

  • It is possible that this title was stripped from Dumbledore during the campaign to discredit him. If not, it would be the only one of his titles to not at the very least have its removal considered.
