The boss of the wizard Gormless Morgan was based off of was, presumably, someone who employed or led those who hunted magical creatures. He was the one who tasked Morgan with capturing the Gorgon, advising him to take his time and properly plan his course of action, advice Morgan did not take. As Morgan failed in his task, it is unknown what further action, if any, this man took against the Gorgon he wanted caught.
