A gold cauldron is a cauldron made from gold, a precious, soft metal. Many of these can be found around the Hogwarts Castle. A simple Knockback Jinx can knock them over.[1] Alastor Moody owned one.
On his first visit to Diagon Alley, Harry Potter wanted to purchase a gold cauldron, but Rubeus Hagrid disallowed it, since his supply list specified pewter.
Fine Enchanting Cauldrons sold Gold Cauldrons (Standard Size 1 and 5).[2]
Behind the scenes
