Ginny Weasley's wand is of unknown length, wood, and core materials. The wand was manufactured by Garrick Ollivander.
History
Like most wizards and witches in Great Britain, Ginny purchased it at the age of eleven before beginning her education at Hogwarts in 1992 from Ollivander's Wand shop.
She has been able to perform powerful magic with her wand, such as casting an unmatchable Bat-Bogey Hex.
Ginny also wielded this wand in many battles of the Second Wizarding War such as: the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, and the Battle of Hogwarts.
Appearance
The wand's appearance is quite beautiful. It is a shiny jet black colour with spiral one forth the way up the wand and at the end of the spirals there are lines that intersect another one forth of the way.
Behind the scenes
- Ginny's wand in the Harry Potter films, or at least the replica sold at The Making of Harry Potter, measures 14.25 inches. This cannot be considered canon, however, as Pottermore indicates that Garrick Ollivander only sold wands over 14 inches when a "physical peculiarity" required it.
