George Walker Bush was a President of the United States of America, holding the office by July of 1996. It was by his decision that the Congressional Gold Medal of Honour was awarded to the then-current Dalai Lama, a move that angered China.[2]
Behind the scenes
- In real life, George W. Bush served as President of the United States from 2001-2009. In 1996, Bush was serving as Governor of Texas, and the President was Bill Clinton, who is interestingly enough mentioned in the same film prop as Bush.
