The Ivorian National Quidditch team uses a group of river Genies trained in formation dancing as their team mascots, and brought them to perform at the opening ceremonies of the 2014 Quidditch World Cup.
Behind the scenes
- Genie is one transliteration of the Arabic الجن, a creature prominent in Islamic folklore. According to one legend, the Baoulé people of the Ivory Coast were able to emigrate to the nation from their native Ghana by sacrificing their queen's son to the river genies to pass an otherwise uncrossable river.
