Gemma Jones, (born 4 December 1942) is an English actress who portrayed Poppy Pomfrey in the film adaptations of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

At the London premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, she confirmed that she returns for the last film: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

She was first recognised outside the UK in 1974, after playing the Empress Frederick in the BBC television drama series Fall of Eagles and Louisa Trotter in another BBC drama, The Duchess of Duke Street. She later played Mrs. Dashwood alongside Kate Winslet, as well as future Harry Potter co-stars Robert Hardy, Alan Rickman, Elizabeth Spriggs, Imelda Staunton, and Emma Thompson, in the Academy Award-winning period drama Sense and Sensibility (1995). The film also starred British actor Richard Lumsden, who in the same year married Emma's sister Sophie Thompson, another future Potter star.

Other notable roles include Lady Queensbury in Wilde (1997), Grace Winslow in The Winslow Boy (1999), Pam Jones in Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) alongside Harry Potter co-star Jim Broadbent, and Dr. Jakes alongside Harry Potter co-stars Emma Watson and Richard Griffiths in Ballet Shoes (2007).
