Harry Potter: "Muggles have garden gnomes too, you know."
Ronald Weasley: "Yeah, I've seen those things they think are gnomes, like fat little Father Christmases with fishing rods..."
— Ronald Weasley shows disdain for Muggle garden gnomes[src]

A garden gnome is a common Muggle lawn ornament. They are typically bearded and stocky, thus bearing a slight resemblance to Father Christmas, and can be depicted performing a variety of activities, such as fishing. Ronald Weasley was familiar with Muggle garden gnomes, possibly due to his father's occupation, though he compared them disdainfully to the living magical creatures also called gnomes.[1]
