A funeral was held in the honour of Queen Victoria, who from 1837 until 1901, ruled as Queen over the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.[1]

The Minister for Magic at the time, the 145-year-old Faris Spavin, was in attendance, donned in admiral's hat and spats. This act led the Wizengamot to gently suggest he retire, which he did, two years later.[2]
