Fox (genus Vulpes) is a member of the canine family known for its slyness and cunning. Their fur colours include grey, red, white, brown or black and live in forests, feeding on chickens, rabbits and other mammals.
In 1993, Lavender Brown's pet rabbit Binky was killed by a fox.[1] Augusta Longbottom owns a scarf made of fox fur.[2]
In the summer of 1996, Bellatrix Lestrange killed a fox near Spinner's End with a nonverbal Killing Curse, as she thought it might have been an Auror.[3]
Fox as a Patronus form
- Seamus Finnigan's Patronus took the form of a fox and he used it during the Battle of Hogwarts in 1998 to repel several Dementors from himself, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna and Ernie.
