The subject of this article is a real-life person, company, product, or creative work that has been mentioned "in-universe" in a canon source. The Harry Potter Wiki is written from the perspective that all information presented in canon is true (e.g., Hogwarts really exists), and, as such, details contained in this article may differ from real world facts.

I reckon It's almost the same. There's no need to create next template comprising the same information written in other words. 19:38, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Many articles have Wikipedia links in their notes and references section. Would it be a good idea to create a template instead?

Something like:

"Informous!"

"This article covers the subject from an in-universe point of view. Wikipedia has an article covering it from the real world perspective."

Or something like this.--Rodolphus 15:48, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

I like the idea, but I don't think we should use informuos, as it is not a spell from the series. I would suggest "A lot of wizards think it’s a waste of time, knowing this sort of Muggle trick" (Fred) or "Ecklectic, you say? With a plug?" (Arthur). Informous is a canon spell. But I agree that Fred's quote is better.--Rodolphus 16:01, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Wouldn't amount of articles with such template be too extensive? Who'll instert it? And what about other real-world sources; Not only Wikipedia is a reference to usually one or two sentences at the beginning of an article. What's more there's already template infoming about something like Rudolphus' presented above.

I reckon It's almost the same. There's no need to create next template comprising the same information written in other words. Colin Fletcher Owl Post 19:38, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

We could also edit the existing template to inclzde a wikipedia. And the templates would not be the same. The wikipedia template would also be used on articles like "wand".

I know it would be used on many pages. But we can all cooperate to add them. I personally think it's better to have templates that are used on many pages instead of rarely applied ones like Veela infobox. What do others think?--Rodolphus 13:49, April 9, 2012 (UTC)
