One of the Wikia staff posted about this on Caviler One's talk page, but he's not active. Anyway, I think we should be joining this, but apparently we have to have a community discussion first. ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:00, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

Well, if it's a community decision, then I am opposed. I saw the staff blog post when it came up in the little notification, and it honestly seems rather gimmicky and only tangentially related to our wiki at best. Of course, if it's what others in the community want to be associated with, then I won't complain; I just (most likely) won't personally participate. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 18:22, September 14, 2012 (UTC)
There are two different things to sign up for - a Fantasy Fellowship where you just join a sort of webring thing and an "Adventure dream team" thing where there's some sort of quest. I don't really care about the latter, but I don't see why not on the former. ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:27, September 14, 2012 (UTC)
I do agree with Star slightly that this is a kinda gimmicky thing but I can't think of a reason why we shouldn't participate! As long as it doesn't take a huge chunk of the amount of editing the members do, I'm up for it! Rainbow Shifter (talk) 18:38, September 14, 2012 (UTC)
Whilst I'm not going to stop the wiki itself from doing this, but as with Star, I probably won't be doing anything personally with it. How about, those who do want to join it can go ahead and do so, and those who don't want to can not do so, and then we'll all be fine and dandy. Hunnie Bunn (talk) 19:38, September 14, 2012 (UTC)
Well with the fantasy fellowship thing, it doesn't really seem there's much to "do" besides have the logo on the wiki to show support and get our wiki linked on a webring that'll circulate around the wiki and may give links or updates about swag like stuff for The Hobbit, as far as the dream team, that's something that is user by user, not the whole wiki, at least the way I read it, as it asks for a user name when you enter a "team" and doesn't even ask what wiki you are from. ::: BachLynn23  Send me an Owl!  The worst failure, is the failure to try.  20:56,15/9/2012
Exactly! The former is just a webring thing; the later is by user choice. So I don't see why don't just do it. ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:07, September 15, 2012 (UTC)
Yea personally I think it's a good way to show community support for other wiki's, and we are related thru our ties as a fantasy genre, doing it won't hurt our wiki certainly so....  BachLynn23  Send me an Owl!  The worst failure, is the failure to try.  21:15,15/9/2012
Hi. I just got here and noticed that Kate.moon left me a message as well. I was going to create a forum (this ought to be decided by the community), but it seems that you heard of it before I did.
I, personally, am somewhat indifferent to the whole thing -- I don't think it relates that much to Harry Potter (though, as ProfessorTofty rightly pointed out, there doesn't seem to be a reason not to join). Either way, it wouldn't hurt to show some support for fellow wikis. I think I would vote weak support. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:38, September 15, 2012 (UTC)

So any consensus on this?

Apparently not, though there was never any strong objection to the idea of simply displaying the banner. It's a bit late now, though I think it may still be possible to have the banner if we wanted it. ProfessorTofty (talk) 15:48, September 28, 2012 (UTC)
Well they were still asking about our wiki in comments on the blog, about whether we wanted in on the banner or not, they were hoping to get all major fantasy genre types on board

When showing support for other Wikis is all they want I have no problem with it.

Well as no one is outright against it, I"m going to go ahead and say we're on board
