Well, i would say it is because harry was ready to die, as in at the final battle, harry didnt want to die. I dont really know, but thats my guess. {{User:Ratneer/sig include}} 22:14, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

I think it's because it was hitting Voldemort's soul inside Harry, which also would've impacted Harry as well.

If read part of book at final fight both harry and Vold cast a spell that collide with each other. This could thus be reason why because Vold was hit by both spells and died and why before he was able to hit harry with the killing curse. {{unsigned|74.227.183.242}}

Harry was the 7th Horcrux, the one that Voldemort never planned on creating. So, it might be that in the execution scene in the Dark Forrest the reason why the Elder Wand chooses to harm Harry is because it might know that it's actually killing the part of Voldemort's soul trapped in Harry's body and not Harry himself. As for Voldemort passing out in the same scene, he might have experienced losing a part of his soul. Being so close to one another, the part of soul that remained in Voldemort's body might have acknowledged the loss of the part of Voldemort's soul trapped in Harry's body.--[[User:Ohmbun|Ohmbun]] 22:31, December 23, 2009 (UTC)

:I think it was simply that in the Forest, Harry '''wanted''' to die. He knew he had to, and so he decided not to defend himself. The Elder Wand was acting according to its owner's will. But in final battle, Harry wasn't willing to die; he wanted to defeat Voldemort. The Elder Wand refused to act against its owner's will, and the curse deflected and hit Voldemort. One of the main parts to that however, is the fact that in the great hall, Harry used Expelliarmus, this being produced by the "master of death" is what, I believe, truly made the wand backfire on Voldemort, in the cave harry just let voldemort kill him, but I think him using that spell is what really made it backfire..(Sirius Black 04:47, January 11, 2010 (UTC))

Yeah, I think it's because Harry had a piece of Voldemort inside him, and the wand would still kill Voldemort, obviously, so it happened. :D AVPMforlife

When Voldemort cast the Killing Curse at Harry in the Forest near the end of the Deathly Hallows book, he used the Elder Wand. The curse "succeeded" in hitting Harry. It did not flip over and shoot the curse at Voldemort like it did in the final duel.

As we know now, the reason the Elder Wand shot Voldemort in the final duel is that it would not kill its master, Harry Potter. If the wand won't kill its master, then why did it hit Harry Potter during the execution scene in the forest? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.4.147.8 (talkcontribs).
