I have a thing on transfigurations spells, especially switching spells. If there is a spell for every transfiguration there is, that must be millions of spells! Take Fera Verto for example. Fero Verto changes an animal to a water goblet. what if you want to change an animal to a knife, a new spell. or a stone, a new spell. a chair, new spell. and so it continues. Am I wrong?--Kraftword 13:54, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

You can be wrong, for the movies often give spells an incantation that don't have an incantation in the books. It is most likely that there is just a spell to transfer or switch in general, and you can switch more precise by adding the name of the object it has to become, like the spell Accio for example. if you say Accio book, you summon a book, so maybe you can add a name to a switching spell. Of course, i can also be wrong.--Arthur232 22:29, November 6, 2009 (UTC)

How do you mean? You think like you could say Fera Verto Rat and Fera Verto Lion? Just how. Explain! :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kraftword (talkcontribs).

I think I can answer this ! Listen, Fera Verto is a spell which according to the movie switches animals into water goblets right ? Not necessarily ! Well, Fera verto means beast, I transform or beast transform so if like you said you would want to change it into a knife you would say the same incantation but the visualisation would be different. Professor McGonagall said :Today we will transform animals into water goblets. The last day she probably said: Today we will be transforming animals into a different kind of inanimate object like you said stone, knife chair etc. The visualisation would be different. Say animals into water goblets ... Visualisation: The water goblet. Say animals into knife .... Visualisation: a knife. Get it ? The lesson was probably animate to inanimate in general and not animate to water goblets only ... Do you get it or did I explain it too hard :P Oh I forgot to say my name is Kondino !
