Who do you reckon was the DADA teacher when the Marauders (James, Remus, Sirius, Peter...) were in their school years? We only know those in Harry's time, but I don't recall it was ever mentionned who he (or they) might be. Any idea? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Myrddin75 (talk • contribs).
- It hasn't been mentioned yet. Hopefully Pottermore will clear this up. - Nick O'Demus 20:26, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
- I don't know, but could it be Professor Merrythought? (I'm not sure if that's spelled right.) Merrythought taught something during Tom Riddle's years at Hogwarts.24.128.9.183 14:32, August 13, 2012 (UTC)Laura
- Tom Riddle heard in his schooltime that she will retire. The Marauders went to school after Tom had already left, so I think she was not teaching any more. Harry granger Talk contribs 14:38, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
- Galatea Merrythought retired in 1945, after having been Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher for 50 years, since 1895. -- Seth Cooper owl post! 14:42, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
- Lord Voldemort cursed the DADA teacher job, so every teacher from around 1956 until 1998, and therefore also during the marauders' school time, would only hold the position for a year, so a lot of different teachers were teaching the marauders DADA. SorenaJ (talk) 16:53, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
