What do you think of the idea of merging the content of Hex, Curse, Jinx, Charm etc into one page for Types of Magic or something similarly named. I suggest this because each of those pages have very little content and it could serve as one index instead of smaller pages that are seemingly unconnected. With one page as an index with all the content of those pages included, it would be a larger, cohesive article with links to specific spells. To get a better idea of what i'm talking about check out my scratch page - http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/User:Mafalda_Hopkirk/Ideas. Mafalda Hopkirk 16:20, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey, i don't mean to be irritating, but i just wanted to bump this thread and see what you guys thought of this? Mafalda Hopkirk 16:12, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

As I said on the talk page, I feel that the idea has merit, but needs a more neutral POV, such as the offensive/defensive vs positive/negative issue, and the inclusion of "non-canonical" spells into the main body. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 23:33, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
You know, I thought about what you said, but i think i disagree. There may be a better way of terming it, but the article would clearly define that "positive" means "improving on the existing condition of something" or "ammeliorating a codition", while "negative" would mean magic that either takes away life or causes suffering. What other way can they be termed? Maybe i'm not being creative enough? Mafalda Hopkirk 12:36, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
I vote for the new article, separated they are way too small.
Bluelantern, can you think of a better way to term "positive" or "negative" magic? I'm drawing a blank. Mafalda Hopkirk 02:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Mafalda, since none of us can come up with a better term, I reckon run with the positive/ negative terminology. Like you say, if you make sure to define the terms in their association, I think it'd be ok. Maybe a little bit on how the Wizarding world seems to use "negative" spells without compunction and not being seen as "evil"? - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 15:58, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
It can also be changed later if ideas are presented. I'll do some editing and post it up. Mafalda Hopkirk 19:46, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
It's up. ^.^ Mafalda Hopkirk 22:43, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Very nice. Could use some images, though. I'll have a scout around tomorrow and see what I can find. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 23:34, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
