With the recent page move vandalism of User:Kill you, it's obvious he is User:Jonah Pier Musto, trying to circumvent his blocked account. Should we implement a sock puppetry policy like Wikipedia does to prevent vandalism like this? --Cubs Fan2007 (Message me) 03:00, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

I agree with the implementation of the sock-puppetry policy. -- Seth Cooper Moon (Owl Post) 13:22, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
As do I. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 14:33, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
I think I've seen another user page similar to that one somewhere. Thing is I can't remember what it was called. Could it be the same person? ShirleyA 00:16, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
Maybe you're talking about User:I am going to kill you. I am going to murder you.. -- Seth Cooper Moon (Owl Post) 00:18, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
I've blocked this guy under at least 5 different usernames. He apparently has dynamic ips, so there's really nothing we can do. As for the policy, I think we should follow wikipedia's.--Matoro183 (Talk) 02:34, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
That was one of them but I've found another somewhere. if I find it and it hasn't been blocked, i'll post it here. ShirleyA 09:55, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
He is now going under the name User:AVADA KEDAVRA. Jayce Carver Slytherin Prefect badge Talk 10:03, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Oh yeah. That's the one. Already reported though. ShirleyA 10:35, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

I've written up a policy that covers ill-intended sockpuppetry at Harry Potter Wiki:Multiple accounts. I've made allowances for benign, openly disclosed alternate accounts, however, as Hellabore has been using Madam Hooch as a kind of alter ego to organize work on Quidditch-related subjects. Bots are also technically a sock puppet (in a way). Pages of users that "belong" to another user must be marked as such -- probably going to have a template for it. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 02:58, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Also for future reference -- don't put things in the "Harry Potter Wiki" namespace unless they're official policy, i.e. that page should be on a User page or something until its official (which I believe needs an open wiki vote...per the voting policy). It'll pass though so its fine. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 03:00, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
I added/rewrote the policy to include a few more situations. Templates haven't been made yet. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 03:21, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
I created Template:Alt persona and Template:Sockpuppet. As for draft versions of policy pages, I think it would be more convenient to allow these to stay in the "Harry Potter Wiki" namespace, but with a header template to let users know that the policy has yet to be approved. Something like, "This page is only a draft and is not yet considered an official policy of the Harry Potter Wiki. A vote to determine whether it is made official policy is being held here (with link to discussion page)." Starstuff (Owl me!) 18:00, 20 May 2009
