Did Remus Lupin help Sirius Black break into Hogwarts castle in the third book? if not then how did he get in?

Remus Lupin didn't help Sirius Black. Sirius Black was an animagus, a great black dog, and transformed into this dog and then could enter the castle. Harry granger 21:12, July 10, 2011 (UTC)

The above is true, but wouldn't Hogwarts charms stopped black from entering the castle?, nearly all the staff believed he was a murderer and a danger to hogwarts.

Nobody without Remus Lupin knows that Black is an animagus. So why should they prevent dogs from entering the castle? When there is a spell that the castle recognizes animagi, then it would be possible to prevent animagi from entering Hogwarts, but we don't know if there is such a spell and - as I said above - no one knows that Black is an unregistered animagus and that there is a necessarity to prevent animals from entering the castle. The secret passage beneath the Whomping Willow was unprotected all year, and we know for a fact Sirius knew about that (come to think of it, Dumbledore was the responsible for the creation of that passage; why didn't he seal it?). I guess it's really a good idea that sirius couls have used the Whomping Willow passage...Come to think of it it's the most logical theory as to how he succeded to enter the castle. I highly doubt that he would have just entered through the portal, he is always described as someone who does things in the most impressive way possible so I think that even at the time - being an escaped convict seeking to commit the murder he was pu in prison for - he would have chosen to come through the Willow passage, as a memorial to the old days if nothing else...Marianne mione 09:31, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
