Given the new Pottermore entry, should we assume that all families not listred have muggle heritage?

In cases where there are pure-bloods in other families. (Examples are the Goyle, Brown and Macdogal families), this can be explained by other relatives (aunts, cousins) marrying non-pure-bloods.

No. The list was from an unreliable source. ProfessorTofty (talk) 17:53, September 22, 2012 (UTC)
It's a bit hard to tell whether you're joking or not over a computer, but assuming you are, I do believe Rodolphus was asking whether we ought to change all the families whose heritage isn't known to be Muggle-born and who aren't on the Sacred Twenty-Eight list to Half-blood. Yes, that's what I meant. --Rodolphus (talk) 17:59, September 22, 2012 (UTC)
I'm not joking; this guy Cantankerus Nott wasn't considered a reliable authority by the wizarding community. While we may be willing to draw conclusions regarding which families were pure-blood from the list, I don't think we can reasonably draw any other conclusions. That's true... just the way you phrased it, I thought you were saying Pottermore isn't an official source... now I get it. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 18:09, September 22, 2012 (UTC)
