:Wow attitude much? And okay i see i understand it but i think it makes things much more complicated also i dont think it makes a difference because its not like we can tell even if we look at technology because they dont show anything in modern times. Oh and another question, in the half blood prince, when harry and hermione are in the library it looks like the girl is on a laptop? Was i mistaken?

:::Don't forget to sign your posts with four tildes ('''<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>'''). Literary canon establishes the timeline in the books as: 1981 (chapter 1 of ''Philosopher's Stone''), 1991-1998 (the main action in the seven books) and 2017 (epilogue of ''Deathly Hallows''). Although it's true the movies (and even the books) contain some anachronisms (Millennium Bridge in 1996 much?), the established timeline remains the same. As for Romilda Vane using a laptop in the library; no, she is copying down something from a book (see [http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/still/harry_potter_hbp32.jpg this picture]). The reason almost no technology is shown in the wizarding world is, according to Hermione Granger, that electricity goes haywire in magical atmospheres. -- <small><span style="border:2px solid #333333;">[[User:Seth Cooper|<font style="color:#333333;">&nbsp;'''Seth Cooper'''&nbsp;</font>]][[User talk:Seth Cooper|<font style="background:#333333;color:white;">&nbsp;'''owl&nbsp;post!'''</font>]]</span></small> 21:14, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

Forums: Index > Wizengamot > Quick question? can anyone answer fast?

Okay so my question is, why in this wiki, do the years for whicht the events occured take place in the 90's when they are placed on modern times at which point she never wrote actual times or days in the books. I would understand if you used the years that they books came out, but they came out in 2000 or 2001? anyone? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.88.218.128 (talkcontribs).
