Okay so my question is, why in this wiki, do the years for whicht the events occured take place in the 90's when they are placed on modern times at which point she never wrote actual times or days in the books. Wow attitude much? And okay i see i understand it but i think it makes things much more complicated also i dont think it makes a difference because its not like we can tell even if we look at technology because they dont show anything in modern times. Oh and another question, in the half blood prince, when harry and hermione are in the library it looks like the girl is on a laptop? Literary canon establishes the timeline in the books as: 1981 (chapter 1 of Philosopher's Stone), 1991-1998 (the main action in the seven books) and 2017 (epilogue of Deathly Hallows). Although it's true the movies (and even the books) contain some anachronisms (Millennium Bridge in 1996 much?), the established timeline remains the same. As for Romilda Vane using a laptop in the library; no, she is copying down something from a book (see this picture).
