Tom Riddle is a half blood so how is he able to seperate himself from his own persicution? It seems that this is a large oversight in the world of Harry Potter. I believe it says that his father was a muggle thus making him a half blood. If that is the case then he might be the heir of slytherin but he is no better than Hermione in the eye's of pure-bloods like the Malfoys 05:53, October 14, 2009 (UTC)James Brown

That's irony for you. It was the same thing with Adolf Hitler in Germany: he persecuted all people without blonde hair and blue eyes, even though he himself had neither of those traits. --Cubs Fan (Talk to me) 06:18, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

It's not a plot hole. If anything, Voldemort's half-blood status and pure-blood fanatacism are a major plot point of the series, particularly regarding the prophecy in book 5 and his backstory in book 6. - Nick O'Demus 08:01, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
