Continuation of a discussion on naming an article "Mr. Nott" or "Nott".

Mafalda, I'm bringing this here to answer since I didn't want to repeat myself on two article talk pages and you were the one who raised the point in the first place.

Titling the article "Mr" is better than "Sr" in my opinion since Sr implies that he has the same name as his son. However, while his name is just given as Nott (example only, applies to all instance inc Goyle, Crabbe, etc) he is obviously a Mr Nott when addressed formally. Now, as for the article name - I understanding the reasoning behind the original move, and having Nott as a disambiguation page is useful since it now lists Mr Nott, Mrs Nott and Theodore Nott. However, at the same time, any links to Nott now point to the disambig page, and not the article itself. Therefore, I propose this - if we keep Nott at Mr Nott (for naming convention purposes, since we have a lot of Mr/Mrs articles already), and have Nott redirect to him, then create Nott (disambiguation) to serve as the disambig page. Any thoughts on this?

I understand article titles like "Mr Granger", because nothing concerning his name is known about him. But think in this particular case (Nott or Goyle) the article title of simply "Nott" is more appropriate because that is what he is referred to as, chiefly, in the books. He's never referred to as "Mr Nott". If there is a chance someone will confuse Nott and Theodore Nott (his son) a Youmay could be put at the top of the page. Just so you know I can batch relink names or solve disambiguations with my bot. It's easier to do the links though. (I.e. the bot handles the page moved and automatically relinks everything to the new page). Just tell me what you need done. -- DarkJedi613 ^(Talk) 19:35, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Okay, how about his (again, using Nott as an example, applies to all of them). Move Mr. Nott back to Nott. Create Nott (disambiguation). Keep Mr. Nott as a redirect, and have him listed as such in his wife and son's infoboxes for sake of formality. Comments? - Cavalier One^{(Wizarding Wireless Network)} 22:06, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
