With all the updates to the new Monaco skin, it has been pointed out that the current logo looks a little ... flat. With that in mind, I toyed around with this as a possible replacement:

So what do people think? - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 09:13, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

I think the words Harry Potter Wiki should be beveled.-Matoro183 (Talk - Jimmy Fincher talk) 00:05, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
It also conflicts with the colors of the new skin. I also made one a while ago:

I think its alright. Anything modern is alright with me. Gryff23 02:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

My image was just something I designed to float the idea of changing the main image. It contains three basic elements - the main character of the series making it recognisable, a circle/sphere (in this case the prophecy) to tie in with the trend for Wikia logos to incorporate such shapes, and the name of the wiki. I wanted to get feedback on the image change, then perhaps open it up to a contest/vote scenario if it is warranted. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 07:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Like I said ages ago i think the logo should include Hogwarts in some way. Me_Potter_Fan 10:42, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

The one issue I see immediately with Image:Wiki-logo.png is that the picture of Harry seems to have been stretched out of proportion to fit inside the logo. I also don't think that the golden colour of the text is a very harmonious match with the grey-and-burgundy colour scheme of the new layout. The text looks a little flat, too, so like Matoro183, I'd recommend placing a shadow beneath it or shading it to make it look a bit more "3D." I do think the concept is a good one, though.
I also like Matoro183's concept. My only suggestions for it would be to change the olive green colour of the text to grey, so that it fits in better with the new colour scheme, and to remove the blurring effect from around Snape's textbook. I think the Potions textbook ties in well with this site, which is an encyclopedia, and the notes that Snape scribbled in the margins of that book were a bit like a wiki: building on top of someone else's work.
Me Potter Fan's suggestion is also worth considering. What about including the Hogwarts crest in the logo? -Starstuff 01:33, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
The picture of Harry is not stretched, but I can see that it looks that way. Any distortion is probably a result of scaling the image down to fit in the required space. The Hogwarts logo idea is worth considering, but the Spanish HP wiki uses a similar logo (link on the front page), and I really don't want to look like we're copying them. As for Hogwarts, my idea is to have a separate logo, then have a banner/background along the top that incorporates Hogwarts. For an example, check Wookieepedia's main page. Their banner includes the Hoth wastes and some Imperial AT-ATs. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 09:25, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
I really like Cavalier One's idea of making it like Wookieepedia exept with Hogwarts castle. Me_Potter_Fan 12:21, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
I made a logo.Me_Potter_Fan 12:37, 3 May 2008 (UTC) Hogwartslogo
The hogwarts background sounds cool, but it would take some advanced imaging skills. We could have the picture of Hogwarts be on the left side, then have it blur out into a solid color, which would be a little easier.-Matoro183 (Talk - Jimmy Fincher talk) 19:51, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Alright, I tried the hogwarts thing, but it doesn't work with the colors of the new skin-Matoro183 (Talk - Jimmy Fincher talk) 21:01, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
