I know there was the Muggle-Born Registration, which indicates that there wasn't already any i.d. or records, and theres the Magical Quill in Hogwarts, but that's in Hogwarts, not in the Ministry. Gringotts has there own type of thing, the keys to let you into your vault. However, Bogrod asked Hermione, as Bellatrix, for her key, after she refused, he said her wand would suffice. Is there any other info on wands serving as i.d., or anything else.

Just Curious,

The films show us that, at the very least, Ministry employees have I.D. cards (see this image), and the book implies they exist as well (Hermione identifies Mafalda based of a card in her robes, though it admittedly could also have been a business card or something. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 02:01, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
Harry also had to use his wand as ID when he visited the ministry in the fifth book. Wizards also need to take a test to apparatus, so they might get a license for that, similar to Muggle driving licenses.69.140.36.22 02:27, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
